It's been a long time coming. However, in the January transfer window, Man United are willing to loan out Antony, who has flopped since he joined.
For Man United, the spirits are growing. They have had an awful start to the season but if they can keep up their winning momentum, fans will forgive Erik ten Hag and the players. It's a big 'if.'
The Red Devils have a few players to thank for their victory at the weekend. Marcus Rashford, who some consider as "finished", stepped up to the mark and had one of his best performances in a United shirt.
Therefore, there is a growing consensus that other players could turn around their fortunes. However, Antony seems like a lost cause.
Man United will loan out £86m flop in January transfer window
According to a new report by Football Insider, Man United are running out of patience with Antony. So much so, they are willing to listen to and accept a loan offer for Antony.
This comes as a result of Man United being more sensible with their finances. The report claims that the higher-ups at Old Trafford are keen to remove Antony's wages from their outgoing bill.
This decision makes plenty of sense. It takes courage to admit when something isn't going right, something that Man United owners in the past have failed to see.
As it stands, Antony is the fifth highest paid player at Man United (Capology). However, he does not perform anywhere the level to justify this. Therefore, cutting bait is certainly the best outcome here.
Erik ten Hag had a vision. However, this vision did not correlate with the vision of Man United. It's a professional mistake, one which everyone is granted the permission to make.
That said, Man United must now recognise this as a mistake, and cut their bill. It's not a selfish move to do that.
