Manchester United full back Jayde Riviere has signed a new deal with the club, committing her future to the club, signing a new contract that runs until June 2028, with the option of an extra year as well. The announcement was made through Manchester United's official website about the young Canadian full back.

Riviere joined Manchester United in January 2023 and has since made 32 appearances across all competitions. The 23 year old has become a regular at right back, despite facing injury setbacks early in her time at United. She was part of the squad that secured the FA Women’s Cup title last season, a victory that she is eager to replicate.

In a statement following the announcement of the contract extension, Riviere expressed her joy in extending her stay at the club: "I feel the honour of being a Manchester United player every time I step on the pitch, so I’m thrilled that this journey is going to continue. Winning the FA Cup last season gave us all a taste of success, and I’ll continue to give everything I have to achieve more moments like that for our fans."

Matt Johnson, interim head of women’s football at Manchester United, praised Riviere’s potential and commitment. "Jayde is a talented young player who is ambitious and determined, with the potential to be world-class. She has already achieved a lot at a relatively young age, but we know there is more to come, and we are delighted that she will continue her development at Manchester United," he said.

Riviere has been a key player for the Canadian national team as well where she has earned 47 at just 23 years of age. Her international experience is vital and makes her a key player for Manchester United Women as the club continues to challenge for the WSL title.

The new deal with Riviere is the latest extension, following the recent extension of Grace Clinton’s contract as well. Manchester United Women's fans will be hoping Riviere continues to deliver and contribute to the team’s ongoing success in the years to come.
