Man United have missed the most big chances in top five European leagues

Man United have had a frustrating start to the season. In fact, they have missed more big chances than any club in Europe's top five leagues.
Another game has passed where Man United failed to capitalise on their chances. Ultimately, it cost them as they drew at the weekend against Crystal Palace.
Last season, Man United set a great foundation to build on for the current campaign. They won the FA Cup, with youngsters Kobbie Mainoo and Alejandro Garnacho being their best players.
However, it has been a bitter start to the Premier League season from Erik ten Hag's perspective. There are no two ways about it, Man United simply must pick up their performances and start finishing their chances.

According to StatMuse, Man United have missed the most big chances of any team in Europe's top five leagues. Without a doubt, this stat should be a cause for concern for Erik ten Hag.
In the summer, Man United invested in their attack. Having only signed Rasmus Hojlund in the previous summer, Man United brought in Joshua Zirkzee, who is yet to hit the ground running despite scoring a debut goal.
In total, Man United have missed 16 big chances since the start of the season. Their season would look a lot different had they buried even half of those chances, let alone all of them.
At this stage, it is hard to put Man United's misfortunes down to simply "bad luck". A few big chances missed can be excused but to miss 16 since the start of the season should keep Erik ten Hag up at night.
As things stand, Man United sit 11th in the Premier League table. Improvements simply must be made and they must be made quick.
