Man United have had a brilliant summer transfer window. This was exemplified in their opening Premier League fixture, when they beat Fulham courtesy of a 1-0 scoreline, with a late goal scored by super-sub Joshua Zirkzee. The former Bologna man was signed throughout the summer transfer window and proved a testament to the Man United recruitment team.
That said, Man United fans do not expect the Red Devils to be active in the last couple of weeks of the summer transfer window. After all, the relevant signings have already been made and if anything, Man United would only be hindering themselves by signing more players.
That said, Fabrizio Romano has provided an update on Man United's interest in a Chelsea star.
Fabrizio Romano claims Man United will not pursue Chelsea transfer
According to Fabrizio Romano (h/t Utd District), Man United are not expected to engage in a deal for Ben Chilwell. The reason is simple, and that's because Man United would only be willing to loan Chilwell, whereas Chelsea's preference (understandably) is to sell him permanently.

Ben Chilwell is a great full-back and one who has good experience in the Premier League, both with Chelsea and Leicester City. In fact, he is a Champions League winner with Chelsea but due to their frivolous spending in recent seasons, has fallen surplus to requirements in the Chelsea ranks.
Chilwell plays as a left-back, a position which was occupied by Diogo Dalot in the Premier League opener against Fulham. This is a position is primarily occupied by Luke Shaw, but can also be covered by Tyrell Malacia if all else fails. As things stand, both left-backs are on the treatment table.
Chilwell is a transfer who is better off avoided, as far as Man United are concerned. Their best course of action is to ride out the injury crisis, and place a particular emphasis on Luke Shaw to ensure his recovery is tip-top, for once.
