Featuring on the coverage of the UEFA Champions League, David Beckham made a superb claim which will please Man United fans.

Man United have had a poor start to the season but after winning their last two matches, they could be building some good momentum.

The UEFA Champions League got back underway last night. Unfortunately, Man United were not in action and they instead had to witness their rivals Liverpool in the iconic competition.

However, Man United have a great history in the UEFA Champions League. The Red Devils have won the competition a total of three times in its history and the consensus is that it is not over.

In fact, David Beckham has made a bold UEFA Champions League prediction involving his former club Man United.

David Beckham makes superb claim about Man United in Champions League

Speaking to CBS Sports Golazo on the UEFA Champions League opening night, David Beckham said: “It is a little bit painful not seeing United there [Champions League] but we’re too big to not be back on this stage.”

David Beckham is one of the best wingers to play for Man United. He represented the Red Devils first team between 1992–2003, after coming through the youth academy.

His ability to whip in a mean cross and of course, take an exceptional set-piece long lives in the memories of Man United and England fans.

It is unfortunate that he joined Real Madrid but he spent a fair chunk of time at Old Trafford, so Man United fans do not look at him in any bitter light. After all, playing for Real Madrid is the dream of every player.

Of course, fans hope that David Beckham is right in his prediction. Despite being out of loop for a while, it is still bizarre to watch Man United not in the Champions League.

Hopefully, it is only a matter of time.
