Manchester United desperately need a fresh start with many different players. Francisco Trincão could be a step in the right direction for the struggling side. Trincão has been a positive player under Amorim before, which is a good sign if United can win the race to sign the young star.

The 25 year old winger has a price tag of around £30 million. The Portuguese man could be a signficant addition to United's squad, with Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho, and Antony all set to leave in the summer.

Trincão played in the Premier League once before for Wolverhampton in 2021. He has also had spells at Barcelona and S.C. Braga. Trincão currently plays at Sporting, after being brought in by Amorim who had previously coached him at Braga.

United will have to rival several other Premier League clubs for the winger, including Newcastle and Manchester City. Other European clubs will also be keen on getting the winger in the summer window.

Trincão has impressed at Sporting so far this season with 8 goals and 11 assists in Liga Portugal. His form for club has brought him back into the fold for the Portuguese national team, as well. The winger was substituted on against Denmark and scored a goal within minutes to tie up the match. He went on to score a second goal to put Portugal ahead in extra time.

While other clubs might be vying for the winger, Manchester United could use Amorim's and Bruno Fernandes' connections to sign Trincão. Amorim convinced Trincão to join him once before and he'll be keen to do it again as he continues to reshape Manchester United. Fernandes might also have some sway in the decision as he and Trincão are Portuguese teammates.
