Bruno Fernandes gave Manchester United a big reason to worry after limping off in the 4-0 win against Everton, where he capped off a stellar performance.

Fernandes was later seen wearing an ice pack, which might be super concerning for the club and the fans. Manchester United had a 10/10 afternoon against Everton, which was Ruben Amorim's third game in charge. As of now, things couldn't be more perfect for the manager as his team registered a 4-0 victory over The Toffees.

Marcus Rashford and Joshua Zirkzee both scored a brace each to give the Portuguese a perfect afternoon. Everything seemed a little too flawless, but in the 66th minute, captain Fernandes limped off the pitch and was substituted for Manuel Ugarte.

From the looks of it, Fernandes had discomfort in his ankle and was later captured wearing an ice pack around it, which gave Amorim and the Manchester United faithful a heart-in-mouth moment.

The 30-year-old gave a stellar performance with two assists and finally seemed to be returning to his form after a difficult start to the season. He also reached another personal milestone for Manchester United, overtaking Bernardo Silva for the most assists by a Portuguese in Premier League history, numbered 46.

Fernandes' superb injury record gives United hope

A big worry for Amorim, with just three days in between a daunting trip to the Emirates on Wednesday, the last thing he would want is his captain unavailable. Lisandro Martinez and Kobbie Mainoo are the other two players who have also been suspended for the Arsenal clash.

Amorim hopes Fernandes can recover from this minor setback and be available just in time for a match in which his side might not be favorites to win. Mikel Arteta's Gunners look in prime form since the return of Martin Odegaard, who was sidelined through an injury for a lengthy period. They've scored ten goals in their last two games against Sporting and West Ham in the UEFA Champions League and the Premier League, respectively, and the Portuguese would want all his top guns fit and available if his team wants to nick something out against the title contenders.

Amorim would be relieved to see his captain join his teammates after the game to thank the Manchester United fans at Old Trafford. Another hope for Manchester United is Fernandes's amazing fitness; he has just missed three games through injury for the Red Devils in almost five years. The 30-year-old has played football for Manchester United almost every minute since his arrival, and it might be no surprise that Fernandes returned just in time for the Arsenal clash.
