It would be a difficult task to find a Man United fan who isn't aware of Paul Scholes. He was a very memorable character and not just for being one of the most famous English midfielders of all-time. Speaking in a recent interview, Man United legend Paul Scholes was quick to add to the praise-train which is heading Mainoo's way in recent months.
As per The Guardian, Paul Scholes said: “That calmness didn’t come for me as quick as it did for Kobbie, I’d say it came five or six years into my career. That’s why it amazes me. He’s so relaxed, the game’s so easy to him. It’s almost like poetry in motion. That calmness will be vital throughout his career. It’s [something] just in you."
For a player who is still as young as Kobbie Mainoo, this is huge praise from a huge club legend. In many ways, the English midfielder could not wish for better endorsement than this.
The current season is a pivotal season for Kobbie Mainoo. After representing England at EURO 2024, he would've experienced bitter disappointment. But, he will be eager to kick on and continue the exceptional momentum he set last season, being a key figurehead in the FA Cup win most notably.
