Manchester United are currently going through a hard time in terms of injuries. While they managed to keep a clean sheet in their opening Premier League game of the season, Erik ten Hag has a tough time balancing his squad in line with his injury crisis. However, it is nothing the Dutchman is not used to.

Currently, Manchester United are struggling with their left-back spot. Both of their usual culprits at left-back are injured, with Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia both on the treatment table. So, this could result in business being operated before the end of the summer transfer window, which ends for Man United in a week and change.

Thankfully, they've been handed a golden opportunity from Chelsea.

According to The Guardian, Manchester United have been handed the opportunity (by Chelsea themselves) to sign Ben Chilwell. The England international is no longer in the future plans of Enzo Maresca and it has been said that he's currently training away from the first-team, alongside his countryman Raheem Sterling.

Ben Chilwell has excellent experience. He has played in the Premier League with Leicester City and with Chelsea, even winning the Premier League with his current club. However, last season, he was plagued by injuries, which meant that the Chelsea squad developed without him in it and now he is paying the price under a new manager.

For Man United, it would be rather bizarre if they did sign Ben Chilwell. After all, if their aim is to soldify their depth due to ongoing injuries, then signing a player who is injury-prone himself doesn't bode well. Frankly, I would not hold hopes for Ben Chilwell to keep fit, especially considering the bad luck which has been ongoing at Old Trafford for many seasons now.

Do you think Manchester United should sign Ben Chilwell from Chelsea?
