Manchester United have already brought in two marquee signings. They signed Leny Yoro and Joshua Zirkzee. Unfortunately, though, both are likely to miss the start of the new season, due to injury and fitness concerns. That said, the Old Trafford faithful are expecting the Man United transfer news to heat up between now and the end of the summer transfer window.

As per Transfermarkt, Man United have raised a total of €42.5m so far this summer through player sales. They have spent €104.5m. Therefore, the expectation is that more players will leave the club before the summer transfer window ends. Profit rules to one side, Erik ten Hag still has more deadwood to clear before new arrivals are made.

Here's everything Fabrizio Romano has had to say this week...

Man United transfer news: Fabrizio Romano speaks Antony, Matthijs de Ligt & more

Antony wants to stay and prove himself at Man United

Overall, the transfer of Antony to Man United has yet to pay dividends. He arrived from Ajax in 2022 as the club's second most expensive signing (behind Paul Pogba) and is yet to have that groundbreaking moment or run of form which justifies his hefty price tag.

However, the Brazil international currently has no plans to leave Man United, at least not this summer. Fabrizio Romano has relayed some of the comments made by Antony to X (formerly Twitter).

In his own words, Antony said: “This season will be totally different. Rest assured, you'll hear the name Antony in relation to goals and assists!”

So, confidence is not an issue for Antony this season. However, Man United fans are conscious that confidence has never been an issue. In fact, it could even be his detriment. The Red Devils only hope that Antony uses his confidence and channels it to Man United's advantage.

Sonny Aljofree to sign new Man United deal until 2027

As part of Erik ten Hag's long-term vision, he was tasked to prioritise the production of youth when he signed his new contract. The first-step for this is easy, by tying Sonny Aljofree down to a new contract.

The 19-year-old has been a mainstay in Man United's youth ranks and many think he could be the next best thing for Man United. Indeed, the higher-ups at the club are on board with giving the player everything he wants to keep him.

As per Fabrizio Romano, Manchester United could tie Sonny Aljofree down to a new deal until 2027, so a new three year deal. Talks are believed to be at the final stage so if all goes to plan, it won't be long until Man United secure the deal for one of their most promising academy stars.

Manchester United return to talks for Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui

Perhaps the biggest update Fabrizio Romano had in terms of Man United transfer news this week involved the double coup for Bayern Munich duo Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui.

According to the Italian transfer expert, both players are committed to signing for Man United, where they will continue their partnership. It is expected that Man United will re-enter discussions with Bayern Munich over club terms, since they have already agreed personal terms on a 2029 deal with both players.

So, plenty to be excited about from a Man United perspective.
