Bruno Fernandes is suspended from action for three Premier League matches. This comes after the Man United captain was shown a red card against Tottenham Hotspur.

Recently, Man United lost their third Premier League match of the season. In fact, they have now lost 50% of their league matches this season, while picking up seven points out of a possible 18.

Long story short, Man United are in a crisis. They are not picking up points and they are being humiliated at the hands of big clubs, even at home.

In truth, they were never truly out of first gear. Within just three minutes, they were passive as Micky van de Ven, a centre back, ran the length of the pitch to provide Tottenham's opening assist.

This was when Man United still had eleven players on the pitch...

How long is Bruno Fernandes suspended for Man United?

In the 42nd minute, Bruno Fernandes went in studs-up on James Maddison. It was a careless challenge, leaving the referee Chris Kavanagh with no option but to show Bruno a straight red.

So, Bruno Fernandes missed the remainder of the match, where his team eventually lost to three goals. That said, how long is Bruno Fernandes suspended for now?

Bruno Fernandes will miss Man United's next three Premier League matches. Given the upcoming international break, Bruno Fernandes might not feature until November.

Whether or not Man United choose to appeal the suspension remains to be seen. However, Bruno Fernandes certainly feels hard-done-by to be shown the red card, so an appeal is definitely a potential at this stage.

Bruno Fernandes said: "[It's] never a red card that is my view. I agree that it is a foul but it is never a sending off.. The referee tried to tell me that as he saw it was a clear contact with the studs, no. I didn't touch him with the studs or even the foot, it was my ankle. It is a clear foul."

Bruno continued: "If he wants to give me a yellow because they are going to go on a counter then I agree. But more than that, no. It is not the case."

So, his suspension could be reviewed. However, certainly as things stand, Bruno Fernandes is due to miss the next three league games for Man United. Not great, considering their ongoing injury concerns and with the fixture schedule set to heat up between now and Christmas.
