Former Man United defender is a free agent, says Fabrizio Romano

Manchester United have not had a great start to the season. In fact, they have won just one of their opening three fixtures, and that was the first game of the season, saved by Joshua Zirkzee.
Man United had a brilliant summer transfer window but it goes without saying that they haven't been fortunate with injuries. In fact, they have been mostly hit to their defence, with many of the strongest options unavailable through injury.
This could certainly explain why Man United have conceded five goals so far this season, keeping just one clean sheet.
This is why it might come as an interesting conversation for Man United fans to learn that one of their former defenders has become a free agent...
Former Man United defender is a free agent, says Fabrizio Romano
According to Fabrizio Romano on X (formerly Twitter), the ex-Man United defender Alex Telles has seen his contract with Al Nassr terminated with immediate effect, leaving him as a free agent.
Alex Telles joined Al Nassr from Man United in 2023. However, it wasn't to be for the Brazil international in Saudi Arabia. Now, he finds himself in a position to seek a new club.
It must be said that since leaving Porto and even before joining the Portuguese club, Alex Telles hasn't looked settled once in his career. He spent three seasons at United, inclusive of a loan to Sevilla, but he was never a staple in the first-team.
Now, Alex Telles ages at 31 years old. He is a UEFA Europa League winner with Sevilla, so he has great experience as part of a winning team.
Naturally, there will be dialogue about whether Man United should re-sign him. However, I think I speak for every Man United fan when I say this would be a pointless signing. He hasn't improved since he left and even before he left, he was never great at Old Trafford.
