Man United have entered talks with Chelsea and Juventus over the potential sale of Jadon Sancho. The England international, who famously fell out with with Erik ten Hag last season, could sign for Chelsea before the summer transfer window ends.
Of course, the preferred destination for fans (and probably Man United as a club) is Juventus. That way, there is no immediate danger of the sale biting Man United in the backside. If Sancho went to Chelsea and shone at Stamford Bridge, this could end up costing Man United a maximum of six points, after all.
So, what stage are the talks at? Well, reliable journalist David Ornstein broke the news, so let's dive into what he said about the transfer...
Chelsea could sign Man United outcast on one condition
According to David Ornstein of The Athletic, Chelsea have only recently become interested in signing Jadon Sancho of Man United. Their interest is not as far-stretched as Juventus, however, Ornstein feels they are an "equally credible option" to sign Sancho at this stage.
That said, if Chelsea do wish to sign Jadon Sancho from Man United, it would be at the expense at one player leaving the club.
At this stage, Raheem Sterling looks like the most likely option to leave and he would make way for Jadon Sancho. After all, Sterling has been training away from the first-team and he isn't in Enzo Maresca's plans going forward.
Jadon Sancho had a good pre-season with Man United but it doesn't look like he's in the long-term plans of Erik ten Hag. While it was good to see the two parties make up before the season commenced, it seems like a relationship which is broken beyond repair.
From a Man United perspective, it won't be nice to see Jadon Sancho leave. After all, it would feel like the conclusion of a failed project, which nobody likes. However, the departure would be necessary.
