5 youngest Man United players to play in the Premier League
5. Alejandro Garnacho
The fifth youngest player to make his Premier League debut for Man United is Alejandro Garnacho. The Argentine international came through the Manchester United youth academy and was an instant hit, hence his consistent appearances in the Man United first-team.
Garnacho made his Premier League debut at the end of the 2021/2022 season, with an appearance against Chelsea. The match finished 1-1, with Garnacho replacing Anthony Elanga in injury time.
4. Federico Macheda
Some modern Man United fans might not remember Macheda but traditional Man United fans would be hard-pressed to forget a player like him. One of the original Man United star-boys, Macheda broke through during the Sir Alex Ferguson era.
His debut was rather special, as he was introduced to the match against Aston Villa, in place of Nani. In injury time, Federico Macheda scored a fantastic late goal to put Man United in the lead. Debuts don't come much better than that.
3. Mason Greenwood
Mason Greenwood is no longer a Man United player for good reason, but there was a point in time where he filled the Old Trafford faithful with plenty of excitement. He made his Premier League debut, coming off the bench against arch-rivals Arsenal. It was a game which Man United lost, but it was still nice for the teenager at the time to make his debut.
2. Shola Shoretire
Just missing out on the top spot, it's former Man United youngster Shola Shoretire. He was handed his Premier League debut at the young age of 17 years old at Old Trafford. He came off the bench to replace the injured Marcus Rashford.
Shola Shoretire's debut was met with great applause and excitement for the youngster. At this stage of the match, the three points were already wrapped up for Man United. In 2024, though, Shola Shoretire joined PAOK.
1. Angel Gomes
There was a point in time where Angel Gomes was one of the most promising players in world football. This was personified when he made his Premier League debut for Man United, aged just 16 years old. At this point, no other player has made their Premier League debut for Manchester United at that age. Now, though, Gomes no longer plays for the Red Devils.
Gomes made his Premier League debut at the end of the 2016/17 season, coming on against Crystal Palace. He replaced Man United legend Wayne Rooney in the 88th minute but at this point, the game was dead and buried in United's favour.
