Manchester United and Lyon drew 2-2 in the first league of the quarterfinals. The game cost Andre Onana his starting spot against Newcastle at the weekend after his errors led to both of Lyon's goals. However, Altay Bayindir also made costly mistakes that saw United lose 4-1 to Newcastle.

Manchester United team news

Ruben Amorim was given a lot to think about after the defeat to Newcastle. His decisions with the starting lineup will be extremely influential for how the game goes.

Amorim will be without Joshua Zirzkee, as the striker has been ruled out for the rest of the season. Zirkzee started against Newcastle and was looking to spring a counter attack before grabbing at his hamstring. The injury is an untimely one, as Zirkzee has been performing well and scored in the first leg. Rasmus Hojlund is likely to start up top for the Red Devils, and he'll look to finally get on the scoresheet again.

Another crucial decision Amorim had to make was whether or not to start Onana in goal. In his interview, he did confirm that Onana is back in the squad and will start in goal against Lyon. The Cameroonian will need to have a big game after his blunders.

Amorim will likely switch things around in defense after their disastrous loss to Newcastle. Harry Maguire will look to get the nod over Victor Lindelof, who started the Premier League game and served as captain after Bruno Fernandes was substitued. In midfield, Amorim could opt to put in either Mason Mount or Casemiro over Christian Erikson. Patrick Dorgu will also likely get a start on the left wing.

Lyon's team news

Lyon are coming off a 3-1 win against Auxerre in Ligue 1. The French side sit fourth in the table and haven't lost a game since March 28.

Paulo Fonseca is still without two key players in Malick Fofana and Earnest Nuamah. Another player who might not feature for the side is Paul Akouokou after coming off with a knock in the first leg, although he was on the bench against Auxerre.

Former Arsenal man Alexandre Lacazette started at the weekend and scored, which could see him start against United. Rayan Cherki also netted another goal over the weekend, as he continues his impressive form. Former Red Devil Nemanja Matic will look to get a second straight start on his return to Old Trafford.
