Manchester United’s problems this season have been well documented, such as Erik ten Hag, who was sacked last month due to the club’s worst start in Premier League history. The Red Devils have just four wins in their first 14 games of the season with an abysmal goal-scoring record of just 20 goals, with seven of those scored in the Carabao Cup against EFL Championship side Barnsley.

Ruud van Nistelrooy was appointed interim United manager. He was unbeaten in the few games he managed and had his team score many goals. INEOS now wants to freshen up the side’s attacking prowess with recruits from the Bundesliga, who are very highly rated.

According to reports from Sky Germany, Manchester United are monitoring Eintracht Frankfurt’s Egyptian forward Omar Marmoush along with Bayer Leverkusen striker Victor Boniface. The duo will likely be targeted in the winter transfer window as an escape plan to rescue the terrible start of the season and maybe get their hands on a trophy or two under the newly appointed Portuguese.

Omar Marmoush has been one of Europe’s most in-form players, with an astonishing 18 goal contributions in 11 games for Frankfurt in the Bundesliga and 24 goal assists in 17 games in all competitions. The 25-year-old has been on the radar for multiple clubs since last season and is seen as the ideal replacement for Mohamed Salah at Liverpool, who is out of contract and doesn’t appear to be close to negotiating a new deal with the Merseyside giants.

Salah could be pivotal in luring away his Egyptian teammate to Anfield, which means Manchester United will have to pay through their pockets and win the bidding war with Liverpool and other clubs to get his signature. It is suggested in the report that Frankfurt are likely to ask for a price tag close to €60 million for the Forward.

Victor Boniface is another young striker on Manchester United’s list. The 23-year-old played a key role in winning the Bundesliga title and the DFP Pokal for Bayer Leverkusen under Xabi Alonso’s extraordinary management, where they were unbeaten in the league. With eight goals in 15 games already this season in all competitions, Manchester United will surely look to lure in a new addition to their attacking prowess, but do they need another young striker? Bayer Leverkusen value the Nigerian really high and could demand a hefty fee if United seek a January move for him.

Economic Problems

Manchester United is also said to be facing a few financial drawbacks, and Amorim might not be able to spend as freely as his predecessors did. It’ll just be a game of patience for both the Portuguese and the club to see what kind of solutions INEOS comes up with if they are to sign any of the Bundesliga stars in January.
