Manchester United missed out on Jude Bellingham in 2020 but could be about to make their move for his younger brother Jobe. The English midfielder has impressed at Sunderland in the EFL Championship this season.

The Red Devils have a recent track record of signing youth talent who can help the team in the long-term. Chido Obi-Martin and Sekou Kone both arrived in the summer and are viewed as future superstars at Old Trafford.

However, that might not be the case for Jobe Bellingham, 19, should United indeed pursue the younger brother of the Real Madrid superstar. There's a good chance he'd be fastracked into Ruben Amorim's first team.

According to UtdDistrict, United are interested in Jobe Bellingham and are willing to move for the attacking midfielder next year. There's no word on whether that means he's a target for the club heading into the January transfer window.

The two-cap England U21 international has been crucial for Sunderland this season, posting four goals and three assists in 20 games Championship games. He has just over three years left on his contract at the Stadium of Light.

Jobe Bellingham's manager Regis Le Bris highlighted the power of which the young talent possesses. He gave a glowing verdict on the Black Cats' rising star (via GOAL):

“Jobe is so powerful. He wants to affect the game, he had good quality today. It’s not a big surprise for us but you have to do it on the pitch. He did very well today to score the second goal."

Red Devils can ill afford to miss out on another Bellingham

Manchester United's attempts to sign Jude Bellingham four years ago are well-documented, as the then-Birmingham City youngster was given a tour of Carrington. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was still in charge, and several legends were on hand to try and persuade the eventual Ballon d'Or contender to head to Old Trafford, per Sky Sports.

Jude Bellingham instead opted to join Borussia Dortmund, a Bundesliga club renowned for developing young talent into world superstars. That happened with the English midfielder as he went from exciting prospect to bonafide megastar who sealed a big-money move to Real Madrid last summer.

Thus, there are several reasons why United should swoop for Jobe Bellingham and one of those is signing a player who could follow in his brother's footsteps. Some even argue that he's got a higher ceiling than his older sibling.
