Manchester United have yet to make a single signing during the January transfer window although they've agreed a fee for Leece wing-back Patrick Dorgu. The Danish youngster looks set to become Ruben Amorim's first signing since succeeding Erik ten Hag in November.

INEOS' strategy since taking over the sporting side of the club has been to target young talent that they can develop into first-team stars. Dorgu fits that criteria but will likely be an immediate member of Amorim's senior setup given the problems the team have endured at left wing-back.

Another area Manchester United need improvements in as in attack amid a poor goalscoring season for the club as a collective. Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee have failed to be prolific while leading the line while Marcus Rashford continues to be linked with a move away before deadline day on Monday (February 3).

Manchester United Have Been Linked With Bayern Munich's Mathys Tel

Manchester United are one of several clubs showing an interest in Bayern Munich attacker Mathys Tel who has told the Bundesliga giants that he wants to leave the club. The 19-year-old wants more game time having started just two of eight German top-flight games this season.

Fabrizio Romano reports that United are eyeing a loan deal for Tel but are among three Premier League clubs eyeing the French youngster (via United in Focus):

"[Mathys Tel] wants guaranteed game time, he wants to be an important player, not a bench player or only for cup competitions. These are crucial factors.

It’s a work in progress. Many clubs have started calling. Man Utd are there but they’re only interested in a loan. Tottenham want to try. Chelsea are trying but let’s see if they can convince the player because they have many players in his position."

Tottenham have made their move for Tel and informed Bayern they are willing to pay €60m (£50m) to secure his signature, per Romano. The French teenager and his agent are yet to make a decision amid interest from many clubs.

Manchester United Should Cool Interest In Mathys Tel If Loan Isn't Possible

Mathys Tel as a loan option is an exciting prospect especially because you can offer him assured game time without the pressure of taking him on permanently amid a season where he's not been extremely impressive.

The eight-cap France U21 international is without a single goal and has just one assist in 14 games across competitions. This can partly be blamed on Bayern boss Vincent Kompany resisting to give him consistent minutes but he's still not done enough to be in the £50m bracket.

The Red Devils are being cautious with their finances anyway so it's unlikely they'lll try and meet Spurs' offer. But interest should be dropped if Bayern demand a permanent transfer and Amorim should turn his focus to other potential targets.
