Manchester United's recruitment has been aimed at unearthing gems who can become world-class talent at Old Trafford. There have been several signings in the early stages of the INEOS era that fit the criteria, the latest being Arsenal starlet Ayden Heaven, 18, who is set to join the club after being promised a first-team spot as Lisandro Martinez's backup, per AcademyScoop.
Mathys Tel is one of Europe's most exciting attacking prospects, who is seemingly looking for a way out of Bayern Munich. The French striker has informed the Bavarians he wants to leave this month, having been linked with Chelsea, but several clubs are interested, per Fabrizio Romano.
Manchester United have been linked with Tel in the past and this is a golden opportunity to strengthen Ruben Amorim's squad for the future and the present. The 19-year-old can play up top but also out on the left which are two positions that the club are thought to be looking at bolstering.
Tel Wants Out Of Bayern And United Should Swoop

Tel has found game time hard to come by under Vincent Kompany at the Allianz Arena, starting two of eight Bundesliga games. He was expected to be a first-team regular this season but has lost prominence and a departure is desired.
Expectations of Tel are sky-high amid his meteoric rise at Bayern where he debuted at senior level in 2022. He's gone on to make 82 appearances, bagging 16 goals and seven assists and has earned the label of the 'new Mbappe', which goes hand in hand with Sir Jim Ratcliffe's vision of acquisitions at Old Trafford.
Ratcliffe said regarding INEOS' transfer strategy after he became co-owner of the Red Devils in early 2024 (via Sky Sports):
"I'd rather find the next Mbappe than spend a fortune trying to buy success. It's not that clever, is it, buying Mbappe, in a way? Anyone could figure that one out. Much more challenging is to find the next Mbappe or Jude Bellingham or the next Roy Keane."
Tel's transfer value is unknown from Bayern's perspective but he priced at €30 million by Transfermarkt. Given Chelsea are said to be one of many clubs keen, then that price will only rise if an auction ensues for the eight-cap France international. A potential loan deal could be a good idea for United, given their finances but whether the Bavarians will be willing to part on a short-term basis or permanently remains to be seen.
Tel Could Help Ruben Amorim Further Implement His 3-4-3 System

Ruben Amorim has struggled getting his ideas across at the start of his Old Trafford reign and a massive overhaul of his squad is expected next summer. The frontline has been a nuisance amid a lack of goals from forward duo Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee.
Tel could come into Amorim's attack as the focal point for the Red Devils but also be used on the left of a three-man frontline if needed. Alejandro Garnacho's future is uncertain heading into the final days of the January transfer window, with Chelsea and Napoli showing interest in the Argentine winger.
