After making a shocking contract admission, Man United will actively seek to replace Christian Eriksen in the January transfer window.
Christian Eriksen is one of the 9 Man United players with contracts expiring in 2025. However, as things stand, there are no contract talks on the cards for Christian Eriksen.
This was an admission the Danish midfielder made while on international duty. It is a shocking revelation and one which indicates Man United will be active in the January transfer window.
Christian Eriksen is currently in good form. Despite Man United having a poor start to the season, he has been one of the better players at the club. So, it is a surprise to see his hard work isn't rewarded.
Man United will replace Christian Eriksen in January transfer window
According to a report from Football Insider, Man United will actively seek a midfielder to sign in the January transfer window. This would have been the case even if Eriksen was offered a new contract, but his comments will only accelerate their pursuit for a replacement.
Christian Eriksen has been with Man United since 2022. He has made 55 Premier League appearances but as time has progressed, he's slowly fallen out of favour under Erik ten Hag.
In the summer transfer window, Man United signed Manuel Ugarte. This showed that Erik ten Hag was not completely happy with his midfield options.
Considering Kobbie Mainoo is also establishing himself as a sure starter following a great end to last season, it's no surprise that players like Christian Eriksen are pushed to one side.
Eriksen ages at 32 years old. It is miraculous that he still has the capabilities to play at this level, following his cardiac arrest in 2021.
There is no bad blood between Christian Eriksen and Man United. He has been a great player during his time at Old Trafford. Hopefully, the replacement will be dealt with amicably by the club.
