Manchester United fans feel they've found the real deal in Noussair Mazraoui after his excellent performance in a 1-1 draw against Chelsea. The Moroccan right-back started as a makeshift left-back and completely nullified Noni Madueke's threat.
Mazraoui arrived from Bayern Munich in the summer for an initial fee of just £12.5 million and has been one of United's best players this season. He was superb at Old Trafford on Sunday (November 3), with six tackles and winning a staggering 13 of 16 ground duels.
Bruno Fernandes had given the Red Devils the lead from the penalty spot in the 70th minute. However, the visitors hit back through Moises Caicedo's volley as the two sides settled on a drab draw.
Manchester United fans lavish praise on Noussair Mazraoui
Manchester United fans are delighted with the start Mazraoui has made to his Old Trafford career. They were blown away by his 'man-of-the-match' performance against Chelsea as he continues to flourish at either right or left back.
One fan thinks United found themselves a bargain and was full of praise on X/Twitter:
"I can’t believe we bought him for just €15m and he’s been our best player so far!! What a player!"
Another fan reckons he's the best signing this season:
"Best signing of the summer. He is HIM."
More fans chimed in on X to hail the Morroco international:
"It's crazy that he was the best player in the last few games without any recognition," one fan wrote.
"Our signing I'm very pleased with, together with De Ligt!" another fan stated.
Ruben Amorim has a dilemma
Ruben Amorim will officially start his job as Manchester United manager on November 11. The Portuguese coach has succeeded Erik ten Hag and a new era is beckoning at Old Trafford.
The young and exciting coach will implement a 3-4-3 formation that has earned him plaudits at Sporting CP. This places a particular emphasis on wing-backs who are vital in transition.
It begs the question as to who he feels can operate best in the wing-back role on the right. Diogo Dalot has nosedived this season and Mazraoui might be the preferred choice of the two.
Amorim will also have Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia available soon which will again lead to questions over who should play on the left. Does he place his trust in one of the duo who have had a nightmare recent injury record?
