Despite the media noise, Erik ten Hag is confident about keeping the Man United job. He feels the pressure but embraces it.
Man United has had an awful start to the Premier League season. Winning just two games all season, they currently sit fourteenth in the league table. For perspective, they are only five points from the relegation zone.
In their opening seven games, Man United have conceded eight goals. This includes three goals at home against Tottenham Hotspur, which is essentially inexcusable.
However, despite Man United seemingly being on a downward trajectory, Erik ten Hag does not fear for the safety of his job. In fact, he is confident he is seen as "the" man to turn it around at Old Trafford.
Erik ten Hag is confident about keeping the Man United job
According to a report from GOAL, Erik ten Hag is confident that he will keep his Man United job beyond the October international break.
There has been plenty of speculation about Erik ten Hag, particularly due to the board meeting at Man United. However, GOAL insists that the board meeting has been scheduled in for some time and it wasn't necessarily formed to discuss Erik ten Hag's future at Man United.
At the moment, it seems like the players are not fighting to play for Man United. Despite Man United being a huge super-club, the players have no reason to fight for the badge.
This could be a result of their distrust in Erik ten Hag, or it could simply be a talent issue. However, looking at the Man United squad on paper, they really should be achieving more than they are.
Therefore, a logical conclusion can be formed that the players do not trust in Erik ten Hag's vision. In fact, they could even be playing bad on purpose to rush his eventual sacking.
If they are playing bad as a protest, then they need to take a long, hard look at themselves. The people they are really affecting is the fans who pay their wages, not Erik ten Hag.
This form of protest would never happen if Roy Keane was still the Man United captain - Let's just say that.
