Few things in football are more exciting than the transfer market, as clubs compete for the greatest talents to strengthen their squads. As January gets closer, more and more speculations are going on about Brighton forward Joao Pedro. Both Manchester United and Liverpool want the 23-year-old Brazilian. This could lead to a dramatic trade battle that makes the Premier League more interesting.

Manchester United needs a striker who can make a difference because their current forward line is full of injuries and inconsistencies. Pedro has played in nine Premier League games this season, scored four goals, and provided three assists. Because he can play both as a striker and on the wing, teams that want to improve their attack may be interested in signing him.

However, Pedro won't come cheaply with Brighton demanding £100 million for his services, per Graeme Bailey. He has over three years left on his contract at the Amex so the Seagulls are under no pressure to sell.

Liverpool has been interested in Pedro for a long time and tried to sign him in 2019 when he was moving from Fluminense to Watford. However, the deal failed to come to fruition.

According to Sky Sports the Merseysiders want to sign João Pedro as soon as possible during the January transfer window. The club knows that Brighton are notoriously tough in negotiations, so they need to move quickly before other teams step in.

Brighton has emerged as an ideal home for exceptional talent in recent years. They've sold players to major clubs for record prices from Alexis Mac Allister to Moises Caicedo. Both Manchester United and Liverpool require attacking modifications. Under new head coach Ruben Amorim, the Red Devils are trying to rebuild its squad and compete for major titles.

The transfer window in January is approaching quickly, and rumors are getting stronger. Pedro's possible move could change not only the fortunes of these teams but also alter the dynamics of the Premier League.
